Window Shutter From Nagaur – 19th Century

This old Indian window shutters are decorated with a chip carved coin motif. This style is from Nagaur area – a town in central Rajasthan. It’s been crafted from roheda wood, common to the Northern part of Rajasthan. These shutters would originally have been a cupboard front embedded into a wall. Originally they would have been painted but have worn with age making them a one-of-a-kind addition to any room. Their intricate chip carving sets them apart and adds a unique touch to any wall as a piece of art.
