Large Blue Painted Indian Mirror Made From An Old Window – 19th Century

Once part of an opulent haveli in Madhya Pradesh, this striking mirror began life as a carved teak window frame. Its rich blue patina and exquisitely detailed carvings speak to the high craftsmanship of Northern India. The scalloped mihrab arch, a hallmark of Mughal design, lends the piece a majestic architectural quality transforming a functional object into a timeless decorative statement.

Handcrafted from solid teak, the frame is now fitted with a mirror, preserving the original carvings that celebrate both floral motifs and ornamental scrollwork. Whether hung in a hallway, above a console, or as a bold bathroom statement, this mirror adds character, history, and colour to any interior.
