Green Painted Storage Bin From Rajasthan – Ca 1920

This cylindrical metal storage bin from Rajasthan retains layers of its original green painted finish, beautifully weathered to reveal a complex surface of rust, patina, and time-softened colour. Once used in an Indian home or workshop, its sturdy construction and functional design speak to decades of practical service.

The bin features a hinged lid with a simple clasp fastening, two side handles for easy carrying, and a spacious interior with traces of its original red oxide coating. Its honest, age-worn character makes it as decorative as it is functional€”ideal as a rustic waste bin, umbrella stand, planter, or simply as a statement piece in an eclectic interior.
