Choksar From Tibet with Original Painting – 18thC

Tibetan furniture is mostly constructed from cedar or pine and painted in the traditional Tibetan colours, they are often decorated with floral or tantric designs.

Choksars are used in front of the family altar as table to read and recite from the long prayer books. Normally a monk would do this on a regular basis for the family. Original antique Tibetan cabinets and Choksars are now quite rare and there are many reproduction pieces made in China coming into the market. In our modern western world they make a lovely small coffee table.
