Indian Tribal Hand Mirror From Banswara – 19th Century

This charming old Indian hand held mirror is typical of the tribal artwork of Banswara in Southern Rajasthan. The area is prominently populated with Bhil ethnic tribes with their own distinct design styles. Themes include strong geometric carvings around the frame and the prominent use of parrots seen here sitting atop horse heads.

It can be easily mounted on a wall or can be left freestanding on a table or shelf.
