Lacquer Chinese Bench From Jiangxi Province – 19thC

This old Chinese bench is from Jiangxi province in the south of China, a place rarely visited by Chinese antique dealers. Bordering Fujian province, there are clear influences in the classic mix of red and black lacquers and raised carving. Made from walnut, this bench would have belonged to a wealthy family.
