Stylish Vertical Storage
The Shorwell Black & Marble Bookcase combines practical storage with elegant display opportunities in one striking piece. The ladder-style design makes efficient use of vertical space, providing three generous open shelves perfect for books, photo frames, and decorative objects.
Below, a spacious cabinet with the collection's signature slatted doors offers concealed storage for items you prefer to keep hidden, all topped with a luxurious white Calacatta marble surface that adds a touch of sophistication.
Perfect Balance of Open and Closed Storage
This versatile bookcase offers the ideal combination of display and discreet storage options. The upper shelves provide ample space to showcase your book collection, treasured objects, or plants, allowing you to create personal vignettes that express your style.
The lower cabinet conceals less decorative items behind beautiful curved slatted doors, helping to maintain a clean, uncluttered look while still keeping everyday essentials accessible.
Quality Construction
Built to last, this bookcase combines black-stained oak components with quality manufactured wood for exceptional durability. The ladder-style frame provides both stability and visual lightness, while the slatted doors operate smoothly.
The marble top section has been carefully selected for its beautiful natural grey vein patterning and finished to resist stains and scratches. Every detail has been thoughtfully engineered for both aesthetic appeal and practical functionality.
Versatile Styling Potential
The bold black finish offers striking visual contrast in neutral, modern minimalist, contemporary glam or Scandinavian-inspired interiors. It pairs effortlessly with light walls, leather armchairs, or warm wooden floorboards. Use it in living rooms, home offices, or hallways to add both storage and style to any space.
What is Calacatta Marble?
Calacatta marble offers a beautiful, distinctive look. It’s known for its striking, thick grey veins which contrast the snow-white colour of the stone. This stunning material is only found in one quarry in the world, which is located in Carrara, Northern Italy. No two slabs are the same, so every piece from the range has its own character and story to tell – perfect for creating a stunning talking point in your home!
Marble Care
Marble brings a stunning and distinctive character to any piece and, with the right care, is a hard-wearing option that can last many years. The key to marble care is to clean spills as quickly as possible – acidic substances like juice or wine can affect the look of the stone so wipe them up immediately. Using a mat or coaster can reduce the risk of liquids coming into contact with the marble in the first place. Marble is easy to wipe clean – just dust with a dry microfibre cloth. Use a mild soap and warm water if need be, but avoid harsh chemicals such as bleach at all costs.
